I drink 3 things every day, in this order:
- water, water and more water
So when CSN stores offered me the opportunity to select, review and keep one of the many products they had to choose from, I knew exactly what I would review:
We all know there are different glasses for different wines. The big bowl shaped glasses for reds are designed to allow more air to hit the wine… thus helping it to breathe. The problem is, I am usually too impatient to wait for it to breathe. Mommy wants her wine and she often wants it right. now.
There are lots of wine aerators that are just another gadget to have in a drawer. I know they are helpful and make a big difference in the wine, but I didn’t want another gadget.
I’m so pleased that the aerator is built into the pourer. So instead of opening a bottle of wine and pouring it through a regular aerator I can open a bottle, pop on this pourer and have it sit there, all neat and tidy.
My BFF was over for dinner last week and we tried it out on 3 different, moderately priced reds: An old vine zinfandel, a cab, and a pinot noir.
(Don’t judge… it was over a period of 6 or 7 hours. And besides… this was for science.)
There was a definite difference in the tastings with and without the aerator.
This pourer is small and compact, and it’s super easy to clean. It’s pretty handy dandy. There are a couple different versions and models of this pourer. I think this one is premium because the pourer is stainless steel instead of the lower priced plastic pourer.
I imagine that one would work equally well, but lets be honest… as often as I’m going to use this durability is an important consideration.
Mommy needs her wine.
And lets face it, if this little gadget can make a $15 bottle of wine taste like a $30+ bottle of wine, it’s certainly worth investing in one.
So, two thumbs up for the Martin Sonne Premium Decanting Pourer.
Handsome Hubby, my photographer, thought if I had a little wine, he might get lucky…
He’s so silly.
By the way:
CSN Stores have also recently launched a private sale site called Joss & Main.
It’s mainly for home decor and accessories. Even though the prices are slashed to about half of what you’d pay in retail, it’s still a little pricey for me.
However, I love looking at the items for inspiration! And the items for sale change on a fairly regular basis, and it is possible to get an absolute steal of a deal. You just need to check back on a fairly regular basis. Click here to sign up.
