Gratuitous bragging about the men in my life.

June 19, 2011 11 Comments

My dad taught me how to use power tools and to stand up for what I believe in.  He taught me that things are often black and white and there is very little room for gray areas when it comes to strength of character.  He gave me my first beer.

He’s a fabulous dad to me and to my sister, Monica.  He’s a fabulous Poppa to 5 grandchildren.  (Even though he refused to hold any of them as babies until they weighed at least 10 pounds…)  Two tours of Viet Nam and he was afraid to hold a baby with a wobbly neck… go figure.  🙂

That is my dad holding me in the upper left-hand corner, and he is holding Devin in the photo just to the right.  Weird, huh?

My dad helped me to recognize the qualities of a great man and wonderful father when I saw them….

Handsome Hubby is for sure my better half.  He has more patience, more wisdom and he knows to let the first sip of beer be an O’Doul’s.

He’s a fabulous teacher, mentor, role model and an amazing person in general.

Happy Father’s Day to my two favorite Dads.

Great pics! You are funny. I too learned how to use power toools from my dad. He’s still teaching me. I’m sure having a great dad was instrumental in me picking a fabulous husband and father to our girls.

Fabulous pictures! Someday I will have time to scan old pictures. Someday.

My dad never gave me a beer, but we make him drink a lot when he comes to visit 🙂

Oh so cute and so sweet! I learned from my dad that there are very few things I can’t figure out how to fix myself (around the house that is), and that JB Weld can eventually hold everything together. I think when my dad passed away and my mom sold their home, the new owner had no idea that the entire house was only still standing because it had all been JB Welded together. Also, my first sip of beer was the most nastiest tasting “Near Beer” that my dad (a Mormon convert) drank. LOL! Happy Father’s Day to the men in your life!

I actually said ” Sigh ” out loud….that’s how much I meant it.
