In addition to mph, some speedometers measure nagging as well.

October 21, 2011 21 Comments

My parents are visiting friends on the East Coast.  They left their car parked at our house and I drove them to the airport.

In their car, I noticed this….

Little strips of pink sticker on the speedometer.

The stickers correspond to 25 mph (“David! Slow down! You’re in a neighborhood!”) and to 65ish (“David! You’re going too fast!”)

My guess is that my Mom has conveniently placed them there for my Dad, so he can easily see at a glance if he’s about to have his driving critiqued.  He can ease his foot off of the gas and avoid any nagging.

After 50 years of marriage, I guess they better know who is the gas and who is the brakes….

That’s fantastic! At least she lets him get up to 65 though. My Mom starts getting nervous any time I have to drive her somewhere and go over 50.

I would be marking those but it would be….

25….below this, you are going too slow.

65…you are allowed to drive this fast!

That is a great idea! I’d have to take out the dashboard plastic and insert them under so my husband couldn’t take them off. Ha ha.

Hope your parents are seeing some great fall foliage. Ours is nearly done here in the Toronto area – the leaves are now on the lawn instead of the trees and not so pretty.

The pink stickers on the speedometer are brillian!

That is hilarious! If they have been married that long then they obviously have figured out some things that definitely work. I wish I were seeing some Fall color too. Don’t have too much of it up here in NorCal either. (at least where I live…)

That is precious and a good tip on how to keep long, happy marriage. Don’t nag instead find creative ways to get your point across. You must have gotten your creative side fro your Mother!
