There’s much to be said for slip-on shoes…

December 8, 2009 15 Comments

Wanna see what it looks like when a kindergartener asks another kindergartener for help tying his shoes…..?

It was like macrame` and took me a good 5 minutes to get the knot(s) undone. I miss the velcro closures.

I know what you mean… my daughter trys to help daddy with his ties & they look pretty much just like your picture. I’ve become VERY fond of the kids Nike Shox… they are my saving grace some days! 🙂

Ha. I was going crazy with my 8 year old (yes, 8!) having to re-tie his shoes; I finally gave in to Skechers velcro. At least they don’t light up! (Which would be fine for a kindergartner.)

    🙂

Wow – that is SOME tying job. I highly recommend velcro (although I don’t care for the look of it, it does have some benefits).

I agree!!!!!!! Is it wrong if they don’t really know how to tie their own shoes until 5th grade?

Jack’s school required tie shoes this year until all kids knew how to tie their shoes. We frequently dealt with shoes that looked like that. It was sooooo frustrating!

I think you’d need a degree in engineering for that. Or be a Navy Seal who probably does all kinds of knots. Holy crap!

William’s shoes looked much like then when he attempted to tie them himself. Thankfully, Matt was able to teach him correctly pretty quickly 🙂

I think as long as they learn by college, it’s all good.

Heck, I have students that can’t tell time on a clock. Only digital.

Uh, yeah, why don’t they teach that in school anymore? Or Manners? I miss the old days.
