The tribe has spoken: I’m still on the island.

April 8, 2011 20 Comments

I’m happy to say that I made it through the first round of the One Month To Win It contest!
My wine cork artwork*** received enough votes to keep me in the competition another week, so thank you to anyone who voted for it.

Here’s a quick summary of how this works:
The 4-week competition starts with 12 crafters. The challenge for the first week was wall art. We created our pieces and submitted them anonymously so that each piece was judged on its merits, not on the personality/popularity of the crafter.
Readers voted for their favorite, as did the judges. When the votes were tallied, the bottom 3 crafters got cut from the competition.

9 crafters will compete with a new challenge for next week, and at the end of the vote 3 more will be cut.

I’m working hard to complete the next challenge. Wish me luck!

***Tutorial on this next week.

I’m still pouting that it isn’t a popularity contest.

Because for once I am friends with someone popular. And I want to show my support.
