I have been wanting to replace the little secretary desk by our front door for a long time. I knew I probably wanted a book case and had my eye out for one that was just the right size. Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! I love how this beachy bookcase makeover turned out! Last […]
Faux Foil Wrapped Chocolate Eggs
Over the weekend I was feeling a little crafty. We’ve all seen the faux foil wrapped chocolate bunnies, but how about some faux foil wrapped chocolate eggs? (And believe it or not, I did it using foil wrappers from Valentine’s Day chocolates!) Faux? Why? I’ll tell you why… because I ate a bunch of Valentine’s […]
An easy spring craft: golden eggs in peat pot “baskets”
Easter seems like it’s coming so early this year! Why is it in March? I don’t get it. Half the country is still buried in snow, and even here in normally sunny SoCal the weather doesn’t quite feel like spring yet. At any rate, I’m not ready for it. I can’t get on board with […]
Upcycle: easy DIY faux hammered metal planters (with spider web topiaries.)
I needed something tall to flank each side of our front door. Since I’m a symmetry girl, I wanted them to match. This is what I came up with: these faux hammered metal planters. And just for funzies, (since it’s Halloween and all) I thought a spiderweb topiary or two would be kind of cool.
Easy Damask Pumpkin using trashed craft supplies.
I had left over strips of paper from another project, so I took a little Mod Podge and covered a pumpkin with it. I love how it turned out!
Personalized Bunco wine charms {Easy DIY}
I took a little departure from my “Bunco Week” yesterday to discuss cultivating good manners for your kids, but on Monday I shared my revamped outdoor chandelier and no-sew cord cover and on Tuesday I shared my wine bottles turned water carafes. Today…? Personalized Wine Charms. Last year when it was my turn to […]
The Mod Podge Rocks book is awesome! (I can’t wait for the movie!)
I love working with Mod Podge. In my opinion, it’s one of the best crafting “tools” out there. If you’ve never worked with it you’re totally missing out (and, possibly, have been living in a cave). Chances are you’re familiar with the fabulous blog Mod Podge Rocks, and now the author of that blog, Amy […]
Turning thrift shop frames & fabric swatches into decorative chalkboards.
Have you heard of Scribble Shop? It is an amazing online resource for crafters… tons and tons of craft supplies at awesome prices, plus inspiration and tutorials all in one stop! They sent me a big box of mystery goodies and challenged me to get creative. Here’s what they sent me: I got some great […]
Making super cool guitar bookends with Amy from Mod Podge Rocks.
Hi all, the serious family issues that I mentioned were going on have taken a turn for the worse. While I try to keep it all together for my boys, I am fortunate enough that some fabulous blog friends are going to be coming by over the next several days and will be helping me […]
Turn Dollar Store beverage napkins into easy Halloween hurricanes.
Well, not entirely out of beverage napkins. There are a couple other things too. I’m getting ready for our Halloween party on Saturday night and I love lots of candles at my parties. On the tables… on chandeliers… in the yard… everywhere. I have a bunch of empty jars, and while I would normally just […]
