I have a personal preference regarding going barefoot. I’m not a fan. My feet always feel gross when I go barefoot. I know there are others who feel differently.
My husband, for example, who seems to think that the children’s feet will be better off (orthopaedically speaking) if they go barefoot more often.
I do not make people take off their shoes when they come into the house. (Tip: oils from your feet can actually make your carpet look bad faster than shoes’ wear and tear…)
If you want to walk around the house in clean socks, I’m OK with that. DO NOT WALK AROUND OUTSIDE IN YOUR SOCKS. (I don’t care if you’re just running out to the driveway to grab the paper, etc.)
Here is what happens when you don’t quite go barefoot, but don’t have your shoes on either:
aaaggh.
And yes. These socks were a nice, new, bright white at the beginning of the evening.
~~~~~UPDATED TO ANSWER the “HOW?!” QUESTION~~~~~
We were at the home of some friends, having dinner. They have a trampoline out back for the kids. No shoes allowed on the trampoline. However, since the adults were in the house having wine and conversation, I hadn’t noticed that the activities had gone from the trampoline, to the basketball court, and that Grant was in his socks the whole time.
I am not kidding. He did this to BRAND NEW SOCKS in 4 hours!
Oh my gosh! Is he going to wear those to church?
lol! We have many socks that look like this on the boys. I don’t know what it is, but especially Jake (the 11 yo) I will find him PLAYING outside in just socks…like riding a scooter, and playing ball! I am always yelling “get some shoes on!”:)
Those are the absolute worst socks I’ve ever seen.
Hobos would turn up their noses at those socks.
There’s probably an blogger award for this.
You’re SO worthy.
Wait, those were all together at the beginning of the evening…wow! Thanks for the tip about the oils because I have started thinking that I need to be one of those houses with a “no shoe” policy (against my greater feeling). Now I won’t!
Good tip about the oils. I prefer to be sockless in the house but would never be barefoot outside. You never know what you’re gonna step on.
You’re gonna have to pull this picture out when Grant brings home a girl!
I am shoeless. I am sockless. I am woman.
Thanks for stopping by via Ms. Savant. You were very brave for taking her advice.
How funny!! I am a no shoes no socks kind or gal. But I totally agree no socks outside!!
I like shoes at times but like you I don’t like the way my feet feel when walking around with out them. I usually wear slippers in the house or my sneakers.
I have this thing with socks clean or dirty I don’t like touching them. I cringe every time I do wash and fold clothes.
Those socks are nasty! he he
Thank you for stopping by my blog.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Oh yeah! We get those. Usually they are a result from running around in the unfinished area of the basement. Grade on slab concrete flooring is not a socks friend 🙂
Those socks were new at the beginning of the day? What in the world did he do that day to get to that point 🙂
My sister is the barefoot queen (shudder).
Interesting about the oils on the feet thing.
HI! I’m visiting over from MIMIs. So, how DID he get those socks that way? They were new at the beginning of the day? Do tell…
Oh holy heck Batman. Those are SICK. : )
Macey
Oh my goodness…that’s hilarious!
I hate wearing shoes or socks…my feet need to be free!
But it is true that bare feet make your carpet dirtier than shoes! I know…I’m married to a top notch carpet cleaner!
That is insane! I can’t believe he literally WORE out his socks…in four hours!!! Crazy kids.
Those are absolutely amazing!!! Something to be proud of for a little guy!LOL
omg.. my boys do this just going to school! boys!!!!!!
