The Easter Claus…. Or Santa Bunny… (Either way, it’s all kinds of wrong.)

April 18, 2011 16 Comments

Scene: My house. My parents stopped in for a quick visit. The boys are talking with their Gramma about upcoming Easter events.

Grant: “…And will we do an Easter egg hunt at your house?”

Gramma: “Yes! Of course! And what do you boys want the Easter Bunny to bring you for Easter?”

Me: “Mom! The Easter Bunny is not like Santa Claus! He does NOT bring gifts, he brings candy and eggs.” (Said while shooting her the don’t-you-dare-set-up-Easter-to-be-another-gift-giving-extravaganza-where-these-little-turkeys-get-spoiled-rotten look.)

Devin shushes me: “Mom, don’t curb Gramma’s enthusiasm.”

Is that what we’re calling Over-Zealous Grandparents these days…? Enthusiastic?

Please visit the new blog that Mandi from Vintage Revivals and I started.

Oh I so agree! I know a grandmom who gives her grands “presents” for every freakin holiday! And I mean them all…it’s crazy. I will give my grands a bunny or peeps for Easter, a cookie for Valentines day and a extra handful of candy for Halloween but that’s it…other than Christmas or their Bdays!

That poor little girl. . . it reminds me of a pic of one of my daughters sitting on Santas knee.

Check out my blog post on the easter eggs I made from your post earlier. Thanks so much for the idea. . . LOVE my new eggs.

You should tell your mom that my daughter discovered the Easter Bunny is a fraud.

    It’s a guy in a costume.

holy hell that is one hilarious picture. I cracked up so hard. That poor little babe is terrified of that creepy bunny. In her defense I’d be scared too!!

Oh man am I in for it. My mother in law gives us little gifts all the time. I cringe to think of what she’ll do for our future child. She’s going to spoil it ROTTEN!

The Easter Bunny doesn’t bring gifts? Oops!

That poor child is so going to need therapy in a few more years!

It’s disturbing. We have the same thing going on around here. I heard my mom mentioning buying Isaiah a DS game (amongst other things) for “Easter”…REALLY??? What happened to the days of Easter baskets being filled with candy and eggs?

    That pic cracks me up.

Hope you’re having a great week so far!♥

Ok so that picture… how scary is that. That poor little girl. I did laugh a little though… that makes me sound kind of mean huh.

I’m heading over to vote RIGHT NOW!
