A simple, kid-friendly centerpiece.

January 13, 2012 17 Comments

Should form follow function…?  Function follow form…?  Why not put them in the same bowl?

It’s tangerine season, and we go through a 5 pound box of Cuties at least once a week around here.  By adding the tangerines to a bowl of pine cones,   I have a simple, everyday winter centerpiece and I not only don’t care if the kids touch it, I actively encourage them to do so.

Sometimes I am almost embarrassed to post these things that are so simple, they’re kind of stupid.
Almost.

Love it – I did a similar kitchen centerpiece with grapefruit & clementines. Orange is good luck for the new year!

I always think Cuties look so pretty in a bowl!! Never thought to add anything extra but now that I see it, it’s like “duh!” 🙂 So elegant!!

I’m not sure how I feel about how stupidly simple this is and the fact that I’ve never thought of it……it’s not looking good! 😉

Your cutie bowl looks great and so much better than mine that is too small and over flowing with cuties. I think I’m gonna steal your idea!!! :O)

The orange and brown by each other are awesome! And without people posting simple things I would never know what to do.

We’re a cutie loving family too! My girls prefer them cold though so that centerpiece would simply be for looks.

Why be afraid to post something that I’m sure some magazine is touting as the “new” thing!

Just because it’s simple, doesn’t make it “stupid”. I think we (the entire human race) get so caught up in “stuff” that we tend to overlook the simple things. And those simple things can be really, really extraordinaryt! So please –keep on giving us simple. Personally, I’m so tired of complicated, I LONG for simplicity! So…thank you!
