Make an Outdoor Rustic Chandelier – an easy DIY

November 21, 2016 18 Comments

I love any opportunity to entertain family and friends, and I especially love being able to create a beautiful space on our patio in order to host dinners and brunches. Because we have a big family but a small dining room, creating an outdoor dining room is a fun (but challenging) project and I try […]

An easy summer centerpiece using a chandelier and fresh flowers.

July 30, 2014 2 Comments

My neighbor gave me a blingy chandelier several months back.  I didn’t have any place to put it, so it just kind of got stuck in a corner.  Then I needed an easy and inexpensive centerpiece and I immediately knew the chandy would be a great focal point.  Here’s how I took a chandelier and flowers […]

Thinking about Thanksgiving Table Decor.

Thanksgiving, tablescape, centerpiece, fall, autumn, entertaining

I just boxed up the last of the Halloween decor and now I am thinking about ideas for our Thanksgiving table decor.  We host Thanksgiving each year, and I think last year’s decor might have been my favorite: I loved the hanging centerpiece and the white, beribboned pumpkins with just a touch of bling. A […]

Do you love those cinnamon scented pine-cones that are sold this time of year?  (In a house full of stinky boys, I am a big fan of yummy air fresheners!)  I love them and want them on display, but I like mixing them up with other fall elements. Popping those pine-cones into a big tarnished […]

An easy spring centerpiece: Mossy Branch with paper Buds

March 13, 2013 2 Comments

Yesterday I showed you a tablescape that would be nice for a little Easter Brunch, especially since Easter is coming so early this year.  I wanted it to feel a bit like springtime is just beginning to warm things up in the woods…  which was perfect, since the big tree in our front yard was […]

Tablescape ideas for an early Easter Brunch.

March 12, 2013 14 Comments

Is it just me, or is Easter coming super early this year…? I feel like I will have just laundered my green “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” T-shirt and suddenly I will be needing to fill Easter baskets.  In thinking about Easter Brunch, I was wondering how I was going to make it happen since I […]

Using Epsom Salt in your Christmas Decorating.

December 11, 2012 10 Comments

Epsom salt…  Isn’t that what people soak sore feet in? I wouldn’t know.  I only use it for crafts and decorating. Epsom salt is a fabulous, frosty looking salt crystal.  You can pick it up at any drug store or grocery store in the health/pharmacy section.  I use it a lot during the winter.  It looks […]

A Thanksgiving tablescape and centerpiece. (a cheap, easy and beautiful DIY)

November 28, 2012 5 Comments

Yesterday I did a wrap up of our Thanksgiving dinner and decor, but I wanted to share how I put together the hanging centerpiece before I move on to all things Christmas. There are no rules here.  I mixed yard clippings with rhinestones and mercury glass with mason jars… it all worked together. I explained […]

Nothing makes me happier than having friends and family around during the holidays. The more, the merrier! (And I love, love, love how my Thanksgiving table turned out.!) Painted pumpkins, greenery from the yard and candles made it gorgeous.

Even though stores are ready for Christmas in July, I can’t bring myself to put up a single decoration before December 1st. This easy centerpiece helps me transition from fall to winter.
