This year’s Halloween is looking so very different from previous ones. Problems with my back and a busy work schedule are preventing me from getting creative with any new projects. Fortunately, I have a whole heck of a lot of Halloween decor from holidays gone by to get me in the mood. I loved, loved, LOVED my front door display last year.

When it comes to Halloween, I like a simple color palette. Black, white, silver and pops of orange. This vignette by our front door featured a DIY standing candelabra, a thrift store chair where I spray painted fabric and added scrapbook paper to the back with Outdoor Mod Podge and various Dollar Store pumpkins.
The silver frame with Something wicked this way comes was actually once a pink plastic frame used for in-store advertising displays at Old Navy. When they were done with it they were going to toss it out! My niece worked there at the time and saved it for her frame-hoarding Auntie. (Much to her Uncle’s dismay.) A little silver spray paint, a black foam board and vinyl lettering made for a quick and easy project.
