I am a homework monitor.
I am a paperwork organizer.
I am a secretary.
I am a chauffeur.
I am a laundress, a seamstress, a maid.
I am a cook and a waitress.
That is what I am to my children. Not unexpected.
I am a personal shopper.
I am a secretary.
I am a messenger.
I am a travel agent.
I am a photographer.
I am an encyclopedia.
This is what I am to my mother. Also, not unexpected.
Do you know why? Because although she refuses to get a computer, she does admit that they can come in handy. When those occasions come up, she simply calls me and I do her computer work for her. Like just now:
“Hey, I need you to google something for me really quickly. How much does 1.5 cubic feet of dirt weigh? Can you tell me really quickly?!”
I don’t know where she was. I don’t know what she was doing. Whatever it was, I’m pretty sure my dad isn’t aware of it. I do know that dirt is usually measured in cubic yards, not cubic feet, but before I can “google” this info and confirm the measurements she says, “Oh never mind! We’ve got it. Thanks!” and off she goes.
I figure that I am probably better off just not knowing. (My dad, too.)
