If my son is 19, what does that make me…?

August 14, 2011 15 Comments

My eldest turned 19 yesterday.  Where does the time go?

I started this blog to keep track of the things the kids do.  Grant has provided the majority of the blogging material, but I fondly looked over some of my favorite “Devin”  posts yesterday…

As moms we recognize the milestones like first words and first steps, but this blog also let me chronicle the last time he ever picked his nose.

He’s witty and quick. He is quite the Ladies’ Man… not!

He gives his input on what we should serve special guests for dinner, and when it is appropriate to eat a dessert.

This guy cracks me up, brings me joy and frustrates me to no end. He’s complicated and interesting, and I’m blessed that I got to be his mom.  I love you Dev, happy birthday!

My oldest son is also 19 and it’s amazing how many changes he’s going through. Life, big stuff, not much involving Mom anymore. I know it was the goal….for his to be his own man. But I’m nostalgic and want him to bring me wildflowers from the yard just one more time. Lisa~

It’s amazing when our kids hit these milestones. And, yes, we all wonder where the time has gone. Nineteen…the last of the “teen” years. He’s a handsome young man and I know he will have a very interesting life. After all, he has had a very interesting family to help shape him…

    Happy Birthday!!!
    Jane (artfully graced)

ps My eldest is 31…married this past spring. And recently, he and his wife announced that Marty and I are going to be grandparents. Yea! (and yikes! How did we get so old?)
