Hanging out on the patio.

August 27, 2012 Leave a Comment

We love entertaining, and our parties and dinners are often held on our patio.  I love getting ready for these events and making everything look special.  But I also love to sit quietly and enjoy the morning sunshine with a cup of coffee too.

I feel like I am always so rushed.  So even though I might be checking email on my phone and responding to texts, (just like I do every morning while I drink my coffee) it just seems a bit more relaxing to do it in a pretty setting.

I like the flowers and color on our patio…

The difference between morning routine inside and morning routine out in the sunshine sets a better tone for my day.

It’s not just that there’s pretty plants and flowers, but there’s also The Hummingbird Show.  I could sit outside and watch these guys for hours.

The birds zoom in and out of the yard and jockey for position at the feeder.  Do you remember the cartoon show called The Jetsons?  These birds make the same noise as the Jetsons’ little space-ships zipping around. It’s pretty funny.

There’s other wildlife in our yard too…

If you don’t pet her enough, she will wiggle her way closer to you until you can’t help but pet her.  (In this photo, she’s actually wedged her head under the arm of the chair in order to get closer to Handsome Hubby.

These are just some of my favorite activities that my family enjoys on our patio. What activities do you and your family enjoy on your patio?
