My First Pumpkin of the Season… and it’s a total Craft Fail.

September 4, 2012 14 Comments

It’s September!  I am so ready to start thinking Fall!
Unfortunately, I am kicking off the season with a Craft Fail.

Last week I shared my big, fat feather failure…  Well I had set some of the orange ones aside.
This is what happens when you cross a pumpkin with a Muppet.

Please believe me that I was envisioning something veeeeerry different.  Even barely getting started I could tell this thing was going to end tragically, and I just scrapped the whole project.

As Kenny Rogers used to say, “…know when to walk away, and know when to run…”

Back to the drawing board.

Oh if you could hear me laughing over here, when I read orange feathers and pumpkin in the same sentence, I knew it was going to be good. I think it is actually quite lovely. If Zsa Zsa Gabor were still around, you could give it to her, I think she would have loved it.

I think you should just call it your RuPaul/Drag pumpkin.

It certainly looks interesting. I hope you’ll let us in on the secret of what you were really aiming for.

It’s not half as bad as you think it is. Put it aside for a bit, go back in couple days with some fresh creativity and you’ll be surprised what you can make out of it.
Love the colors with the orange feathers and pumpkin. Make a nest of the feathers on bottom with some other embellishments. Just an idea.
I kinda think a few of us might have had that problem before. Bless your heart.
