My heart hurts.

December 17, 2012 3 Comments

And so does my soul.
I snapped this Instagram photo last Friday afternoon.

Today I am not complaining about the after-school trail of destruction that Grant leaves as he comes in the door.
Today I am just thanking The Lord for the simple blessing of having my child walk in the door at all.

Last year there was a mass shooting in a hair salon in Seal Beach, CA and 8 people were killed.  My friend worked in a different salon in the same building, but original reports didn’t say which salon had been shot up.  I couldn’t reach her and I had about 10 minutes of mind-numbing panic and was just sick with terror, not knowing if she had been shot.  Thank God she was ok, but she lost friends in the shooting.

Even having that experience to draw from, I still am unable to fully imagine the heartbreak and loss that those families in Connecticut are enduring.  My prayers are with them.

I have holiday-ish things ready to share with you, but I will share them tomorrow.

God bless,

I am sick at heart over this – can’t even wrap my head around the fact that it really happened, and people I know and love were affected. So surreal.

It’s just so very sad! My heart is still hurting. Hug your child, spouse, and friends, life is short, and you never know. Hugs from the East Coast! donna
