Tablescape ideas for an early Easter Brunch.

March 12, 2013 14 Comments

Is it just me, or is Easter coming super early this year…?
I feel like I will have just laundered my green “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” T-shirt and suddenly I will be needing to fill Easter baskets.  In thinking about Easter Brunch, I was wondering how I was going to make it happen since I am just not feeling the typical Easter pastels.

After kicking around several tablescape ideas, I decided on going with lots of texture and keeping a pretty clean palette of green and white.

setting the table for an early Easter Brunch

I had a cool, spring woodland theme stuck in my head, so I decided to go with a lot of texture, a simple color palette and just a teeny bit of sparkle.  Target has a ton of wonderful items in their Threshold Collection, so I decided to start there and see what might inspire me.

I fell in love with this awesome textured tablecloth, matching napkins and cool leather & silver napkin rings.  Loads of texture and I can totally see them working with my fall decor too.  Anything that does seasonal double duty is a “must have” in my book!  I also love, love, LOVE that it is all wrinkle resistant.

I am a big fan of having white dishes as your “base” set of dishes.  They go with everything and it is easy to add in little pops of color.  There are lots of colors and styles in Target’s Threshold Collection, and I thought these were perfect to bring some cool spring color to the table.

Then once you get your dishes, napkins and flatware all set… it’s time for the really fun stuff:  the centerpiece.  Since I was going for a chilly spring vibe, it was perfect timing that a big branch fell from the tree in out front yard.  I’ll show you how to make this tomorrow.  It created the perfect, simple centerpiece to play up my new linens and plates.

Easter may be coming a bit early this year, but with target’s help, I am ready for it.

I love this Viv!! I think the linen color and the green look so fabulous together – and perfect for Spring! That centerpiece is amazing. And I think I’m going to have to pick up those napkin rings!

I love it and I love that it’s not tradition Easter decor. It’s so fresh and Springy. I love the natural colors and elements and the wonderful texture to the whole table.

I’ll have to check out the online shop. Target is too far from my home. I miss the $ bins 🙁 Love what you did with the table. It’s such a fresh look. Perfect for Spring.
