Thanksgiving Wrap Up: Dinner, Decor and the Thanksgiving Table

November 27, 2012 10 Comments

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving?  We did!
I was missing most of my kiddos… Devin and Conner went to Arizona with their dad’s side of the family, and Mitch was with his mom, but Grant was here (of course!) and we had a full house anyway.  Nothing makes me happier than having friends and family around.  The more, the merrier!  I love, love, love how my Thanksgiving table turned out.

How I made this.
I love how my table turned out!

My fabulous sister came over a day early, and she and Handsome Hubby slaved away in the kitchen while I played around with decor.  I didn’t cook a thing!

Holy cats!  There was so much food!  (And holy cats, I look tired and cross-eyed.  What the what?)

They had it down to a pretty tight schedule…

We ate out on our patio, so while Sis and HH were cooking, I was putting things together to create our “outdoor room”  using drop cloths and burlap strips.

burlap, drop cloth, outdoor curtains, outdoor room, entertaining

I used a staple gun to attach the drop cloth to the back of the structure and then looped strips of burlap over one of the front supports.  (It hides the barren planter where we can’t get anything to grow because it’s part of the dog’s squirrel chasing course…)

It was such a nice evening and I loved every minute of it!  Hope yours was great too!

Click HERE to see how I put together the hanging centerpiece and the table, but after that we’ll be all Christmas around here!

You’re something else, Viv! Love your Thanksgiving table. We had a wonderful day, too–but mine was spent in the kitchen all day. Thanksgiving is one meal i love to cook! And the friends who joined us have two little girls who love to put on aprons and help in the kitchen. I’m not used to that! 🙂
