So Saturday night we had our annual Halloween party. Handsome Hubby and I love doing this every year. He was especially pleased this year, because I finally relented and told him that he could be a Scary Clown… something he’s wanted to dress up as for years.
Since the only companion costume to a scary clown was a ringmaster/carnival person (or a frightened child) I decided to go carney. (And can I just say that I think I’m going to start wearing a corset on a regular basis…? Hello, waist!! Where ‘ya been?! Good ta see you!)
I love playing around with decor. I actually kept it kind of simple this year.

No one ever understands my “31” They think it’s a countdown where I forgot the “2”. |
Last year I made sort of Night Circus inspired cabanas out of our EZ-Ups, this year I was invited to try some scary digital decorations from a company called AtmosfearFX. I projected their Ghostly Apparitions DVD onto the front of one of the tents. Creepy. The photo doesn’t really do this any justice. You should check out the link to see their video of these ghosts in action. They sent me Creepy Crawlies 2 and I am already planning next year’s party using that. By the way, they also have Christmas themed digital decor at AtmosCheerFX. Could be super fun in just a few short months.
My floor candelabra and Mod Podge Halloween chair greet people as they reach the front door.
Then inside I have my Bat Wall, the Apothecary Bookcase with my chain pumpkins and DIY soda bottle cloche, and my black & white mantel.
I also did a take off on last year’s Photo Garland and decided to make a Photo Curtain where people could once again just take their photo as a souvenir. Personally, I have a fun time looking at the photos as I put them together.
Decor only takes you so far, then you need to just rely on inviting really fun people. Which we did. A little photo-overload:
By the end of the night there was just dancing and silliness.
We were missing a few friends this year (weddings, flu …having to put down a beloved family dog 🙁 So sad!) but we all still had a great time! And I’ve already been thinking about ideas for next year’s party.

How fun! Love all of your decorations but I gotta say that White Trash made me giggle out loud. 🙂
