I’ve previously shared some of my tricks and tips for organizing my Christmas decor (hint: store it by color!) But just because I have un-decorated Christmas does not mean that I am ready to start dragging out the Valentine’s decor or spring anything. It’s still winter, people!
So how do I decorate with a winter theme? First, I undo all of the color and sparkle…

… and add muted, natural elements.

I pulled away the candy canes (click here to see how I store them for future years), left the epsom salt and added in a few pine cones. The red ornaments are gone and a few glittered and natural twigs and sticks will tide me over until February.

See? Easy. Cheap. Happy sigh.
Perfect.
Yet still beautiful. Seriously one day you WILL HAVE TO come to my house & have a field day completely redoing it! 🙂
Happy New Year Viv. Great transition.
I love this. I’m dying for jars like those.
I keep meaning to go pick some branches so I can make a cool display! Okay, so it wouldn’t be “cool” so much as wonky, but I like wonky.
I wish I could find some glass jars like that! I mean, I can find them, but I wish I could find them really cheap! Yours are gorgeous! Congrats again on the feature and enjoy the Best Day of Your Life!!
You are so good at changing up your decorations in an easy but fabulous way!!
Congrats on the TCB feature too – that is awesome and you totally deserve it!! 🙂
Lovely!
I’m all about using what I already have around the place and seeing it being utilized in a different way. Thanks Vivienne for the great ideas.
anything placed inside glass jars always look so awesome
Always perfection over here.
So was today, my birthday, really the best day of your life? MINE TOO!!!
I love it. I have to admit that I am over winter. We didn’t get one stinking snowflake – totally cheated out of a white Christmas. I’m pissed off at winter. I think I may have already told you that in a different comment, or email? Anyramble…I can’t bring myself to decorate for Winter, because now that Christmas is over I just want it to be spring!
Ahh it looks great, I’m staring at my empty mantle trying to let inspiration hit me for filling it up again!
Oh what great ideas! It always looks so bare when the Christmas decor comes down so something is needed.
Great tips on changing out seasonal items. Always so creative!
Great tips Viv!
Viv, these are amazing!! I love the epsom salt–it’s the perfect touch! Thanks for sharing at Oopsey Daisy! XO
How pretty!! I featured it at my blog here: http://passionateandcreativehomemaking.blogspot.com/2012/01/seasonal-wednesdays.html
