Make an easy scrap paper Christmas tree.

December 19, 2012 2 Comments

I wanted one more little Christmas tree for our buffet table.  Just a little one…
I also wanted to get rid of some of my scrap paper stash.

This is the easiest thing in the world to do.  If you can cut pieces of paper into squares, then you can do this craft.

Here’s what you need:

  • Assorted paper scraps
  • wooden skewers
  • candle and votive or any small container/floral foam
  • paper cutter or scissors
  • raffia or other filler
I had a votive cup that looked a bit like a flower pot, so I lit the candle for a few minutes until the wax softened up a bit, then inserted a skewer and let the wax harden up again.
Add in a bit of filler, then cut up a bunch of squares in graduated sizes.  Poke a hole through the center of the squares, starting with the largest and then layering them as you go up.
That’s it.  All done.
Easy!
