Look how far we’ve come!

March 18, 2013 8 Comments

So 47 days after he was run over by a truck, Mitch returned to school.

He can get up and walk around but he gets tired pretty easily, so he needs to ride in the wheelchair from class to class.  Conner got a special pass to be excused 5 minutes early and arrive 5 minutes late to each class so that he can push Mitch.

As sweet as that is, please trust me that they are both ready to work the situation.  The phrases “chicks dig scars” and “it’s a total chick magnet” have been floating around this house for days now.    (And please, don’t even think about leaving some politically correct/indignant comment about girls being referred to as chicks.  I can assure you it is in jest.  I am not raising little meatheads.)

So glad that everything is getting back to normal and that everyone was able to work together to help take care of Mitch.  It has truly been a blessing and a privilege to be a part of his care, and has been a wake-up call as to how we should never take any of our days for granted.

So great to hear that God answered our and of course your prayers. He saved Mitch and he is also recovering so well!
We all know that kids get an advantage of a sad situation to get them cheered up.
When my daughter had to stay put because of her leg being burned she did the exact same thing.
As long as they are happy <3

Let him know that the 22 year old chick of this house walked by and oogled his legs!

It brings tears to my eyes every. single. time. that I am reminded of how lucky you all are. So happy that things are getting so much closer to being “normal” again.

And it is 100% true… chicks dig scars. 😉

No, you most certainly are not, and anyone who reads your blog more then once would know that you have wonderful, wonderful boys!!! Look at those big smiles!! I’m sure Conner is digging the pushing job. Glad Mitch is back at school. I bet he is too.

I get chills every time I think about this accident. I am so happy for you and your family that he is healing and life will eventually be back to normal. I love that they are making a difficult situation into something really positive too. We use “chicks” here too as a joke. Ugh, I hate the PC police. I hope they don’t show up here too often.
