Make Rosemary Herb bread using your bread machine.

November 19, 2014 2 Comments

These days schedules are full and days are busy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy fresh home baked breads.  A bread maker is a convenient way to bake tasty pastries and bread without the need to spend long hours in the kitchen. Fresh baked breads and pastries are an excellent treat, are often healthier and cheaper than store bought breads and they fill your home with that savory bakery aroma. The problem is many people don’t have the time to spend all day baking or the know how to make complicated recipes.

You can make anything from basic white bread to fancier breads, such as sweet breads, or this easy rosemary herb bread.

Rosemary Herb Bread

Here is a recipe for Rosemary herb bread that will taste amazing but is very easy to make using your appliance.

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups bread flour
1 pouch dry yeast (approx. 2 1/4 tsp.)
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. chopped rosemary
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup water
1 tsp. olive oil
3 tbsp. (3/4 ounce) finely shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. chopped rosemary
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Preparation

Spoon the flour into measuring cups; use knife to level. Place the first 9 ingredients (bread flour through water) into the bread maker according to the directions given with the machine; choose a dough cycle and then start the machine. When it is done remove the dough from the machine but don’t bake it yet.

Preheat the oven to 350°

Turn the dough out onto a gently floured surface then rub using oil. Form the dough into a loaf about 12 inches long. Place the loaf onto a cookie sheet. Combine 1 tsp rosemary, cheese, and garlic powder. Sprinkle the mixture onto the loaf. Bake at 350° for 45 min or until tapping the loaf produces a hollow sound. Take loaf out of the pan and cool on wire rack.

Bread makers aren’t just for breads though, you can make pizza dough, rolls, biscuits, pastry/pie shells and much more. The best part it is you can do it all without years of culinary experience or hours in the kitchen. Try it today, your friends and family will be glad you did.
