My kids are all smart.
They frequently make dumb choices, but technically they are all very intelligent.
That’s why things like this just crack me up:
Me: “Mitch, it is supposed to be very hot today… are you sure you want to wear jeans to school?”
Mitch: “I have to. I don’t have any shorts.”
Me: “I’m pretty sure you have about 8 pairs….”
Mitch: “Yes, but they don’t match yellow or they aren’t clean (I’m paraphrasing a bit here) and all that’s left is that pair I got last Christmas and you told me they’re too big, even with a belt.”
Me: “When did you last try them on?”
Mitch: “December”
Me: “What month is it now?”
Mitch: “September”
Me: “How many months have gone by?”
Mitch: “Nine…. oh. (proverbial crickets chirp…) I’ll wear those shorts today.”
The normal outcome in this situation would be that the shorts are now too small, but today is a good day.
Here’s to a good day! (Cheers!)
Sometimes it just takes a minute to get it to click. A good day…sweet!
haha! hilarious!
Oh, have I lived those very same moments…
Have a great day!
btw…my butt ain’t getting bigger; it’s my gut. Just thought you’d like to know that. 🙂
It’s nice to have those kinds of days. They come very rarely around here. Even this morning I was dressing for work and noticed a pair of my pants were fitting snugger than usual. GREAT!!
He was just a little slow…lol
I agree…here’s to a good day! Lucky Mom. I just pulled out the kids’ winter clothes…and there were a couple of items that had tags on them that are now too small. Good thing that there are younger siblings to wear them 🙂
A good day, indeed!
I received a birthday card with a number of purses on the front–each purse bigger than the previous one. Inside it said: it’s not just our butts that get bigger as we age.
A good one indeed!
Ahhh, they always get one of those “ANHA” moments!
Saddly enough it is true.
BTW, did you prove you theory about who ate the muffins?
The proof was in the poop?
Don’t you love it when you are right:)
(I mean I am right all the time, but in an instance where everyone involved is forced to acknowledge:)
Good day! Kids are so funny!
XOOX
Jen
If my butt gets any bigger it’ll need it’s own zip code.
Glad they worked out!
(And, I heart fail blog)!
Yay for a good day. In my world they’d be too small. Way too small.
Ha! I wish their was a turn off age to the butt thing. I mean, my butt has been getting progressively bigger for 30 years…isn’t that enough? Shouldn’t it start shrinking now? Oh well…glad his shorts fit!
So funny! That’s about how it goes.
Hope you’re having a great Saturday!
I just love getting rid of clothes that have never been worn!
Ok so I was looking forward to a post I could relate my fat a$$ to – but this was good as well!
hahahahahaa. This is all in my future since ours in only 2.
Why are kids so intelligent, yet so dumb at the same time?
