Grant got up this morning with a fever. I gave him children’s Advil and he went back to sleep for 4 hours. I know he’s feeling better now. He got up and asked me for some apple juice, cheerios and a Phillips head screwdriver.
IT’S A WONDERFUL (time to expose your little kid to Saturday Night Live at this time in his) LIFE.
This post contains Amazon or other affiliate links. Last night I was watching It’s A Wonderful Life. Such a fabulous movie! A Christmas tradition for many, many people. We also have a Christmas tradition in that we bust out the Saturday Night Live Christmas DVD along with other holiday favorites. Grant loves this SNL DVD. […]
Thank you for bacon.
Grant’s class party was last Friday. I was in the classroom, helping out, when I noticed the kids’ Thanksgiving artwork hanging overhead. I spied Grant’s: In case you can’t read this due to my terrible mobile picture or his phonetic spelling/lack of punctuation, please allow me to transcribe it for you… I am thankful for […]
Bono’s ego is no match for a 6 year old….
Scene: the dining room table. Conner is doing homework; Grant is coloring; I’m working on stuff for a holiday boutique on Saturday. U2 comes on the ipod playlist. Grant: “Is this the Beatles?” Conner: “No, it’s U2.” Grant: “Wait…. like the internet YouTube or what…?”
Sweets from my sweet.
Like most moms, my refrigerator has become a trophy wall…. an art gallery…. a scrapbook…. a day planner & calendar…. etc, etc. In other words, it is usually a chaotic, jumbled mess. So when Grant came to me and said, I have a present for you…. it is on the refrigerator, I stood looking at […]
Your name is not a choice….

The one where I’m gonna wash someone’s mouth out with soap soon….
Scene: the kitchen after school. Grant is having a snack and we are discussing his day. Grant: “Some of the kids at my school are using bad words!” Me: “Uh-oh! That’s not good.” Grant: “Yep. They’re using bad words from The Nightmare Before Christmas.” (It’s one of our Halloween movies that comes out with the […]
That would make for an interesting centerpiece…
When I picked Grant up from school on Friday, he excitedly informed me that it was now October. Grant: “…and what year comes next?” Me: (a little confused) “2011.” Grant: “No, no. What comes after October?” Me: “Oh! November comes next.” Grant: (rubbing his hands together in anticipation) “Yep! Leprechauns and turkeys!!” He has me […]
No me gusta el numero 6.
Scene: our kitchen, after school. Grant: “I know how to count to six in Spanish.” Me: “You do?! That’s wonderful! Can you count for me?” Grant: (in a sing-songy little voice) “uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco…… stress.”
Today’s post is brought to you by the letter…. L
Scene: Grant is rambling on about something that someone did and said on the playground. Using the word like out of context has become a big problem around our house. Grant: “And so he was like ‘Hey!’ so then the other guy was like ‘whoa!’ and like, then, like, this guy was doing, like, this […]
